Default How to get the air out of the cooling system?

The top plastic hose connection on my 91 940T radiator broke off (nice design guys) and I replaced the radiator with an updated metal one. It now occilates between half and 7/8 on the temp guage and I am guessing that there is an air pocket in the system somewhere but can't seem to get it out...is there a trick to getting all the air out of the system? Thanks in advance.

It usually all gets out once the thermostat opens.

Are you sure the thermostat is good?

Well, I'm going to change it now I guess as it should be running a little cooler than it is, but it had been ok. Thanks.

I would partially remove the T-stat to let the air out,
