Just curious how often do you see a decent 240 on road nowadays? Where I live I don't see them running around that much and some of them were like just back from battlefield.

Here in New England they are still a common sight - as much as any other car from the 90s. Obviously the northern climates take a toll, the really cherry Volvos would be out west but back in the day they were way more popular in the east.

there's a good number of 240/740s/940s in new orleans area. some in good condition, many in mediocre.

there's enough here that I've thought of starting a little local Volvo club and/or co-op where we could share knowledge and whatnot.

fairly common around Santa Cruz, California, too, and all over the greater SF Bay Area. About 50-50 wagons and sedans, mostly late 80s and newer

Last time I was in San Jose area, I saw a gold Bertone coupe. Now that's rare.

emmmm, must be easy to find some good parts there then. Most of the time I only see 740/850s in the local junkyard, now even the 740s are hard to find.

problem with the 780, all those unique parts are unobtanium. nearly the whole interior, including seat covers, all the body panels, all the lights, all the trim, NONE of it is available for repairs. sure, the drive-train is right out of a 760, but thats about it.

I see 244 weekly here in central Ohio. The wagons are bit more rare. The rarest redblocks are the 7/9 series. I seldom see those... especially the one that was stolen from me.

I was on Oahu for a week recently and spotted a 92/93 245 going by. It looked good. I waved, but was in a rental car, so the guy probably thought I was nuts. But who isn't when you see a 240 in the middle of the Pacific?

I see plenty of 9's, mostly wagons, but not so many older 7's around here, and what 7's I see are often quite ratty.

Sorry about what happened to you. But ya, most of the time I see a 7/9 they are in a junkyard, more often than the 2s, almost never see a good shape 7/9 move around.

Default Can't stop looking at myself.

I love driving by big shinny windows. Maybe I can get somebody to just drive mine back and forth in front of my house. Only see other ones online for sale (3 or 4), or pick a part.
