My 1983 Wagon has some rust rot around the windshield, my guess is that it's been leaking for quite some time. I found a shop to repair the rust, but he doesn't do windshields. I was gonna go ahead and order the clip kit and seals from Volvo, but I was wondering if I could reuse the chrome trim around the windshield, or is it somehow integral to the rubber? Based on my conversation with the dealer, I assumed they were reusable, though they stopped making the center clips that fasten them together. Is my assumption correct, or will I need to order new chrome as well?

Unless you really like the chrome surround, I would (and did) replace the windshield with the later style. All rubber. No clip to come loose.
