Idleing way too high!! 82 245DL
Hi everyone,
ive looked at other posts to try and figure this out and i really dont know why my car is idling so high. Just a little backround. I found that my flametrap wasnt connected to my vent/breather box way under my intake manifold so i went out and bought a extra piece of hose and made an extension , basically i put the hose onto the breather box and then to my flame trap and all is connected now. before i did thismy carwas idleing very rough andstalling.
Now with everything back together i have a extremely high idle, i dont have a tach in my instrument cluster so i dont know exactly what RPM its at but it feels very high. I checked my throttle switch and do hear "the click" but my Idle Air control valve vibrates at all times, even when i rev the engine its still going. I tried to clean it with carb cleaner and that made no difference, im not sure how to even get my throttle body off to clean it. I took off the big rubber bubble and sprayed carb cleaner up inside of what im guessing is my throttle body. Basicallywhen i rev the engine it comes down very slow but doesnt drop to a normal idle speed , it just stays on the fast idle.
Any help would be much appreciated.
