Default Impulse sender removal/installation help

Ok so I have a thread on here about my timing belt issues and finally got all that working. But now figured I needed a new impulse sender, so I splurged and got one. My question is does anyone have tips on removing the old one on my 86 240?

Problem im having is when I take the cap and rotor off im left with the metal cap piece that spins and produces the signal to the sender is on really tight. And instead of taking something to pry it off and risk ruining something I figured id wait and see what ppls thoughts were on this. Or if there were tips to get it off without bending it and therefore making it outta sync with the timing.

Year and type of car will help a lot too.
