injector hose leak
1990 740 GL
similar problem to what is described in: https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-...el-line-23136/
However, the 6 - 8" hose that connects the injector rail to ... a fitting underneath the intake manifold ruptured. This is the plastic high pressure hose (with rubber insulator) connecting the inverse flare to the banjo fitting off of the injector rail.
Where can I get one or has anyone had success with one being built?
My part sources (local and FCP) are of no use.
If a junk yard is my best bet, how than shall I properly refer to the part?
many many thanx.

at a junk yard...sounds like you can't go to the cars yourself and pick what you need right?
well, I would just buy the whole thing....
if you find vinyl tubing....warm up some water and stick the ends to soften them and immediately push them to the corresponding fittings......if you try flame heat, even from far away, it will melt....
I had a rupture close to the fuel filter (240) and cut the rip out and used a metal ****** tube(both ends) and spliced the hose that way...THE ****** TUBE HAD THE SAME OD AS THE BANJO FITTING BARBS SO IT WORKED FINE...BUT IT WAS SO HARD TO GET THE VINYL TUBE IN THAT I ONLY MANAGED TO GET A BARB AND A HALF IN....STARTED THE CAR AND IT DID NOT LEAK...BUT PUT A CLAP ANYWAYS...I USED THIS METHOD AS A TEMPORARY FIX UNTIL I YANKED THE ENTIRE HOSE FROM A JUNK YARD CAR....

junked out 740/240/940 Volvos are kinda hard to come by here in Western SD. One of the guys at my local parts store said that it looks like a factory proprietary compression crimp of some sort.
are you talking about the fuel line thats between the #3 and 4 injectors and goes to the cold start injector? thats part 1317061 if you wanna try 'new' from the mothership.
hmm, may be unavailable
here's a parts diagram, 1317061 is part #21 on here.
from Fuel pressure pipes with fittings. Fits: 1991 Volvo 940 4DRS S.R 2.3l Fuel Injected | VolvoPartsWebstore.com
(a couple years newer than yours, that site doesn't go back to 1990, but LH2.4 is pretty much LH2.4)

Thanx guys.
I was able to separate the fittings from the line (thank you Analogies), buy a HP fuel line and two compression clamps (thank you LPS) and get rolling down the road again. If the line croaks or the cold start injector dies I will do the bi-pass as suggested by Pierce. And yes #21 is the part - thanx for the info on the fittings.
By the way, what are the compatible ECUs that I would need? I have a Bosch system.

see Engine ECU for the ECU versions.
assuming you don't have EGR (generally only found in California cars although sometimes in other places), a -951 would work, or a -933
