Default Its official...imma idjit

So about 2 years ago my boy and i replaced the heater core on what was his and is now my wife's '92 944. Then last summer i did the blower motor which is so much easier than the heater core. BUT I did that job in a warm weather month. AND no one really noticed that the heat really sucked until it got cold.

So here we are going into another Ohio winter...wife crying she can't take it without any real heat for another winter...you gotta do something.

So I start tearing apart the dash thinking maybe we just didn't get something right when we did the core...maybe i can find it.

And with half the dash in the back seat a thought enters my mind. What if that plug on the blower motor is backwards? The blower would still work but would blow air in the wrong direction. I'm gonna reverse out and see what happens.

So I reverse the plug and presto...I get really hot air blowing outta the top vents and bottom vents.

It's official...imma idjit.

What sucks it that you can plug it in wrong. Poor engineering IMO. There should only be one way to plug it in.

Well in defense of the engineers it's an aftermarket part. I had to remove the tab that secures the plug to get it to fit.

When I did the fuel pump on this car I was able to plug the connector in backwards without too much effort. That fuel pump is a Volvo made in Sweden part.
