Default Jimmy rig the O/D relay?

My O/D gear (on auto 89 240 dl) wont engage. I checked the relay and it's got 2 or 3 burnt spots on it.

Anyhow, I can't get a new on until tomorrow, I was wondering if I put some tinfoil or something in to make the connection whether that would give me my O/D gear for the ride home. Pretty embarrassing riding the right lane at 10 under speed limit while my engine has the years stripped off of it.

Just a thought.

And if you're a newbie to the board, and just got a brick, go right ahead and change all your relays pre-emptively. They're gonna go. Bricks were built to last longer than their relays, apparently (already did the fuel pump relay).

Unplug the relay, jump terminal 87 white wire (od solenoid) to terminal 15 blue wire.(fuse #11)

Don't use tin foil, use a piece of wire.

This worked just jim dandy. Anyone looking to see if it's the relay or the solenoid should try this to rule out the relay.

Any other relay I should look into on an 89 240 dl with no A/C? 285,000 kms?

Fuel pump and O/D covered now.
