Default Just got my Volvo back from the body shop. Question on smell and windows.

I had my rear end smashed where the trunk is. So the middle plate below the trunk and the trunk was replaced. The new parts were re-painted and look great... it's a A++ job. However, the inside of my car smells like aerosol. Also, I noticed on the outside of my windows on some areas there is this spray like cloudy stuff...like dry hair spray. It looks like palm prints but it's not...It's something I have to scrape off with a razor.

If they only painted the rear of the car(trunk in middle plate), how come the inside of my car smells?
Also, why are there areas on my windows outside that look like there is dry hair spray that I have to scrape off?

The crap on the windows is paint overspray...either from painting your car or the one next to it. A first rate paint shop would never allow this to happen to the extent where it would be perceptable. As for the interior of your car...paint smell permeates the car, perfectly normal. Will go away in a couple weeks.

My passenger side window won't roll down...it's been like that forever. However, I noticed a over spray film on that on the inside...but to a lesser extent than the outside. This film I can smudge off with my shirt. Do you think they painted my car or painted one next to it with my car windows down?

Sounds like you got a new clip...Body shops use a lot of spray, and it gets everywhere, it's very fine aerosol and it's hard to contain it... Your car had extensive damage and may be there were parts that required painting with door/windows open. Getting a car from a paint shop sometimes is not a fun thing-I always find things I don't like-the mess is one of them...
