You will need bushings as well. Avoid aftermarket brands as they tend to be junk. I believe either Boge or Lemforder made the originals for Volvo so if you can find those aftermarket brands they should be good. If you can't then go with the Volvo branded ones.

I was thinking we would just do both sides and get it over with. However, the eeuroparts site has left but not right side?

I did see at fcpeuro (www.fcpeuro.com) they have right side but not left. Rather than go with separate ones (and separate brands), I would just buy the pair at IPD and spend the extra $20. I have purchased from all three of those sites and they generally carry good brands.

yeah, never saw a pothole that would bend the lower control arm like that, just saying... I've put like a half million miles or more on various 240/740/940/960's, and NEVER bent any suspension parts, and that includes quite a few off road trips and a lot of high speed driving on bad roads.... bent a few rims, sure.
So no parts. First eBay seller didn't actually have the parts and have me a refund. Second eBay seller states that the "carrier misplaced your item" and I'm getting a refund.
FCPEuro saved the day! Parts will be here on Wednesday.
Retuned the amp (I had issues with my DD-1 and needed new leads), and the system sounds better, but we are still going to put the Arc Audio in there, and run it as an active system.
yep must have been something huge... worth a look see in person! my young at the time son also hit a 'pothole' and bent a lower control arm on a '89 jetta,
turned out to be a granite curb on a corner he took waaay too fast .. lol..

In other news, subwoofer is in a new box, and sounds SOOOO much better. The Arc comes in next Tuesday, and we'll have to tune all over again....
Once the Arc comes in, all the wires will be re-managed & wrapped.

I had a 1989 Jetta GLI 16v (bought new, drove for 8 years and 250K miles)... the lower control arm was way flimsier than that used by Volvo on the 240's... twas a fun car to drive and easy to work on, with a DOHC CIS 1.8L, 5 speed short ratio stick shift, and sticky Pirelli P6 tires that lasted me just a year.

held up really well ....rolled twice and landed on its feet.
