Default Leak after water pump replaced in 88 760 turbo

I just put a new water pump in the car (B230 engine) and thought all went well. But, after the car warmed up, it started leaking where the heater pipe attaches to the water pump. The heater pipe was a little corroded but not bad and I cleaned and applied a small mount of silicone RTV gasket sealer to the pipe when I installed it. Do I have to redo the entire job to fix this or is there a way of just removing the pipe and reinstalling it? Any tricks or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Most likely you cut the rubber seal. Putting the seal on the pipe instead of the water pump helps to keep it from getting cut. I've never tried any sort of patch...but I have had to replace the cut seal with another a couple of times.
