less expensive seat foam solution?
My 88 240 seat foams are crumbling into dust. $300 plus per seat seems steep. On a car I have maybe $1500 Into. Time doesn't count. Has anyone tried other options that would be a bit more budget conscious?. I have browsed the Dorman catalog.
took mine apart. glued the foam back together with contact cement, Then used scraps of blue jeans with contact cement to wrap it with ,then put the cover back on. check the wires for the seat heaters, there is a temperature sensor in there you can check.
in the back there is a lumbar support, You can replace that or make new wires. Its hard wire, piano wire maybe. I think there is a plastic part that might be crumbled. replace that if you can get one or you will see it pull the cover half way up ad do dig into the seat back..
make a new thing to go there if you have to out of plastic or wood or whatever..
there you go an old pair of jeans and what's left of your old can of contact cement and you can fix it. That's cheap. just try.. I did mine 20 years back and they are still comfy.
