Default Looking for a white 240DL or 245

I have been asked by a good friend to find a white 240DL, black leather interior, sun roof, automatic transmission. A 245 (wagon) or a GT would also be in the running. If a re-spray or mechanical work is involved or needed, that is not a deal breaker.
The search for this car must end two years from now and is for a special event in 2023 (his wife's 50th) so it appears to be nostalgia driven. If you have a 240 or 245 and want it to go to a good home, please let me know.

DL vs GL is just a trim package level, the specifics of what was included in the GL varied by model year, for our (bought new) 1987, GL was leather seats, sun roof, alloy wheels, and and seat heaters.

the GT was a rather early model, like late 70s, very early 80s, and was discontinued when the 760 was released.

I'd suggest trying to find a 240GL 1990-1993 (last year) sedan or wagon (the 244/245 notation was dropped some time in the mid 80s, prior to 1987). The 89's were first year with the updated LH 2.4 injection and were a bit prone to issues. if you want to spiff out whatever you get, plan on new exterior lights all the way around, the 'tv panel' headlights used on 86+ or 87+ were prone to fading to yellow haze, nothing spiffs up the car like new lights, and the aftermarket Depo brand replacement headlights for these years have better plastic that won't fade and yellow from sunlight and are an exact fit. ditto, the tailights fade with age, and especially on the sedan are prone to microcracks with let them fill up with rainwater due to how the trunk seal drains, this water then gets inside the trunk and promotes mold.

note that 30 year old leather is likely completely toast, and replacement leather seat skins front and rear will be several $$$$. cloth is a lot cheaper to refurbish.

much appreciated. This one is purely nostalgia driven, as they had a white DL way back. Got a couple of leads already. Jamie

oh, avoid 82-early/mid 87. those have bad wiring throughout the vehicle, insulation thats biodegrable and prone to cracking with age and heat. late 87 are mostly fixed.
