Lower Door Trim/Molding

Lower Door Trim/Molding
I own a 1992 Volvo 240 Wagon. I've been combatting the stubborn trim that runs along the bottom of the doors on Volvo 240s. Usually they end up falling off. This time, in cold weather, the driver's side front door molding snapped off so it can't just be re-glued. Any suggestions as to where to get replacement molding? I've looked all over the internet. Or, has anyone ever just removed all of the lower molding? What would you recommend? Thanks!

You can just remove them, but then you'll have two holes in your doors. I'd love to remove all mine, but alas, there are those damn holes. I found the trim at a junk yard. It's a bear to clean the adhesive off the salvaged parts in order to put new adhesive on, but it's worth it.
If you do find the trim in the junk yard, it peels off the door pretty easily in warm weather. Don't do it in the cold, plastic will snap. When you get the part home, get all the old adhesive off and put double sided 3M tape in it's place. They sell it at autozone.

Oh, this is the plastic molding that is stuck to the doors. Yea, it is tough to get the adhesive off. Warm weather is better than cold. I used a straight edge razor blade at a extremely low angle and used a sawing motion to get the adhesive off. The 3M double sided tape with the red strip is the stuff to put it back on. It is sold in Auto stores, home stores, and Wal Mart.
