Default LSD or locker for Volvo 740

I am trying to find a decent locking or limited slip diff for my 1990 740 wagon, does anyone know of any good options? Otherwise, is welding my diff a bad idea? thanks!

as you can see some Volvos did ship with the G80 "locking" rear end so you may be able to find something used (just make sure you know your gearing in case you also need to change the speedo set up).

non-IRS 760 turbos, 940SE' (91 only) wagons almost for sure had them, on others it was optional.

its a pretty crude LSD, at speeds below 30, if one wheel spins significantly faster, both rear wheels are locked together. if you spin a wheel hard on a tight U turn on pavement, its pretty unsettling when it engages

Default G80 in Austin texas. Junkyard.

There is one in the LKQ junkyard in austin texas. It's in either the '93 940, or' 90 740.
