Default Maximizin Fuel efficiency

I think this is probably everyone's concern right now. My 88 240DL Wagon is working very well, but I am trying to maximize fuel efficiency and somewhere down the line, I'd love to see if this gas-powered car can be converted to an alternative fuel. For the meanwhile, I want to get the car running as leanly as possible. Any suggestions?

I don't think the computer will let you get too far from stock,
the O2 sensor will signal lean and the computerwillcompensate.
It might end up running even richer.
Keep it tuned and enioy the mileage you get.

...pump the tires up to about 40psi. It will net you a mpg or 2
