Default Min air gap 940 turbo

I set the base ide the way posting have said it should be done. I pinched off the hose from the IAC to the throttle body and turned the set screw till idle was at 500 rpms .. I had to turn the set screw almost al the way and that doesn't seem right to me. When I take the throttle body off and look inside there is a large gap .. more then 080 thousands .. I have read also where the throttle plate should be close with a slight air gap ... how much of a air gap is normal? just barley being able to see light under the butterfly? What would be the cause of having to turn the screw so far in and having a large air gap? would a vacuum leak cause it? Tps is set to click in the correct area.

Car is 1994 940 Turbo LH 2.4

Pierce - what do you mean? the Throttle body is clean inside and all vac ports. And that air gap under the butterfly shouldn't be so large should it? shouldn't it be almost closed with just a little light seen under it?

I'm pretty sure the butterfly should be completely closed, the bypass air that you adjust for the fixed idle has its own passage around it... but its been a few years since I've had one out for cleaning.
