New Owner 95 940T Couple of Questions
Just bought a 95 940 Turbo Wagon 167,000 miles. Previous owner had 11 years and keep it well maintained himself. Runs great. Main oil seal leaking when I looked at it. I asked and he replaced the hoses and cleaned the oil separator box. Said not really that dirty. Question about the part and two hoses coming out of it in picture. When hooking up the hoses he was not sure which was which. First way hooked up there was suction at the oil fill port and after a short drive no leak. Started again and he said engine was "cycling". Switched hoses and the engine was running great again but blowing out of oil fill port and leaking from main seal. So, questions. Where are each of the hoses supposed to go? And if they are correct any other ideas on how to relieve pressure and minimize leak?
Really like the car. Thanks for any help!

thats the EGR vacuum controller.
top one should be connected to a manifold vacuum, bottom one should be connected to the EGR actuator down under the intake manifold. I'd have to go look at my 92 745T to tell you which vacuum port the top one comes off of.
on a turbo, the oil seperator box is connected to a rubber fitting on the big airtube that goes between the MAF (mass airflow sensor, sometimes called AMM or Air Mass Meter) and the turbo. there's an electrical connection at that fitting, but its just a low wattage heater, no one I've talked to knows for sure, but the consensus is that the heater is to prevent moisture from freezing there and plugging up the vent.
