Just wanted to introduce myself. I just purchased my first Volvo! It's a 1991 740 Wagon. 200k miles, runs strong, NO rust, no fluid leaks, automatic. Paid $850. The only thing it really needed was to fix the horn, which I needed to do for inspection. I'm also having a local (and very honest) Volvo mechanic fix a front wheel shake (that i feel in the steering wheel). He told me that 9 times out of 10 it's related to an out-of-balance wheel or bent rim. It's at the shop now, and assuming I get around to registering this week, it'll be on the road this weekend! I plan to use this car as a commuter, approximately 50 miles per week. And add on trips to home depot, etc.

Hopefully nothing goes wrong, and I won't need to reach out for advice from this site. But if it does, I know where to find the knowledge. I've been reading this forum for the past two months while I looked for the right car.
