Hello All! Newbie to the Volvo genre. I've never owned a Volvo before, however I may have a chance to grab an '87 740 turbo wagon. Can somebody please tell me what kind of problems to expect out of this kind of vehicle?? I'm a VW/Audi guy for the most part...but my understanding is that the 740 motor is indestructible but does have it's electrical issues and brakes seem to be a problem out here in Ontario (salted roads and such).

Please point me in the right direction. This wagon looks great! Mileage unknown but I expect it to be sitting at around 230K miles.

brakes are notorious for squeaking........they say the rotors and pads are @ 75% but squeaky like they are bad.....but i am going to up grade soon
