Default Newbie with Radio/Cassette player question

Hey all,

Just signed up with the forum. I have a stock 1993 240 with the original radio/ cassette in the dash. The radio works fine but the cassette constantly flips between forwards/backwards so I can't listen to my tapes.

1) i did a couple searched but could not really find an answer to my question (below)

2) is this a common problem?

3) is there an easy fix?

4) if not, are OEM replacements hard to find/expensive, or should I just go aftermarket?

I need a tape player since all my old music is still on cassettes.

Thanks for your help, love the site so far.

Mike

The junk yard is cheap route but these old decks are problematic and will eventually destroy your tapes. Better to rip the tapes and get an MP3 FM adapter for the existing radio.
