No AC, unless I bypass AC clutch power
My 940s have the 8v B230F non-Turbo with the dial for heat in red without the degrees.
I unplugged the relay to test the voltages, but the car would not start without it plugged in, so it must be used for something else. One wire does have a red wire with a green stripe, but must be to something else.

In my 91 740 I had the A/C serviced professionally which cost $600. They replaced the evaporator. Two days later it quit cooling. I could see that the clutch was not pulling in. The A/C shop wouldn't touch it because it was "electrical". My wife suffered through the summer as I didn't have time to run it down. Later, I started tracing the clutch power and found it originated in the little circuit board behind the ***** for the fan speed and temp control. On this circuit board there is a black 9volt relay. It had unsoldered itself from the board. The solder mask covering the copper was too small for the clutch current which is about 4 amps. I scraped off a larger diameter area around the relay pin so there would be more contact area. The relay has been working for the last 6 or 7 years since.
does anyone know, on the manual climate control on early 940s at least, is there any way to turn the air conditioning down without turning the heat up ? seems like if I crack the temp **** above 0, the AC might cycle less often, but the heater is on low too.
