Unhappy No Power

86 240GL just left me at the road side. Engine lost power, back fired, will rev up but die off immediately. Last week fuel filter was changed because it was losing power. Today it started but idle rough but headed out for coffee anyway. It got worse and started back firing and had no power. Got off the road and in safe place and called for towing. Live in a very rural area and will need to fix at home. I am asking for help in diagnosing the problem.
