Im ready to flush my coolant system! My nearest Volvo dealer(1 hour away) sells the coolant for $25 per gallon. My local auto parts sells Prestone 50/50 for $10-13. Would Prestone hurt the cooling system in the long run? IF NOT, Is the prestone for flushing any good? Do I use Di water for flush only and only 50/50 mix for refilling coolant? Im a newbie around here sorry.

I've used the Prestone 50/50 on both my Volvos and have had no issues. When I flushed, I just ran distilled water thru it a couple times.

Just be positive you use the standard type of coolant, generally greenish. DO NOT USE DEXCOOL varieties made for newer cars. I call it DeathCool...will cause issues. There's nothing special about Volvo coolant.
