outside temperature gauge dosent light up? any help? 940 wagon
My 940 wagon's ambient temperature sensor in the bottom right of my dash dosent give off any light, so I cant see it at night. is there a bulb I can replace? or would I have to buy an all new lcd thing? I could have it fixed for like 200 bucks, but thats not worth it at all. would rather do it myself.
REVISION: also does anyone know that type of bulb it requires?

There is in fact a bulb that lights up the gauge and is no big trick to replace: pull out the pod, and it's there, on the gauge. I can't recall if you'd need to take out the gauge itself but that's not a big deal either...
What do u have? A 940 has two tabs inside the two slots on the side of thecover that have to be pressed in. Then the screws that actually hold the instrument pod in. No caps.
I have a 960, and am pretty sure that it is similar. I'll check it out, it seems fairly straightforward. Is there anything else I have to worry about, such as speedo cable, etc?
The 960 gauge is the same except that the pod is attached differently, actually the whole dash is different, so the removal procedure is much more involved. A LOT more screws and things... Make sure you take out the screws inside the vents before you take out the piece in front of the actual pod-if I remember right, some of them are well hidden. There is no speedo cable though, just electrical plugs in the back which only go one way.
oh fun.......it's not that much of a problem, so I think I'll live with it for a little while longer.......unless I find that I'm really bored and have plenty of extra time on my hands on of these weekends
