Hello Bricksters! Common problem I'm sure with these old girls: 89 240 DL wagon, Vinyl seats, driver's seat has a big split (front to back) on the bottom. Couple of questions: Typically I expect a passenger seat to be in better shape than adrivers,if I found a good, right color, vinylpassenger seat on special at my local U pull it junkyard, ($5) could I put it on the drivers side? And also, Is it ridiculous to consider reupolstering the seat bottom on an 1100$ car? Hate those Walmart seat cover things, theyjust slide around. Maybe I should just get some blue duct tape. JC Whitney used to have a reupolstry kit. I know they had one for a 70's style 240 wagon. back in the 80's.

 

I'm currently driving my '90 wagon with the front seats swapped. I had to remove the plastic cover around the e-brake for them to fit, and had to make a minor bend in the mounting rails. It's not perfect, but it was a cheap and quick solution.

 

Monte- Sounds like a possibility, does it look like they (seats) are the same part? I figure I might be able to find a used passenger seat that is good, but dout I could fing a driver's. Dave
