Default Pegasus wheel question for 940

This question is for fellow 940 owners who have 17" wheels. I'm going to buy some 17" Pegasus "lookalike" wheels from IPD in the near future. What size tires are you guys running with 17" wheels and is there a name brand you suggest? The car is a daily driver, stock height and won't be lowered. Thanks in advance for info.

The IPD site has a good writeup on what tires they recommend for this particular rim. Have taken a look at it?

I've seen that info and thanks. I'm more interested in fellow 940 owners who have had 17" wheels installed for a while. I'd like to get recommendations on what size tires and name brands they recommend using with 17" wheels. My car is a daily driver and won't be lowered, raced or otherwise. Thanks in advance for anyone with info.

17" on the 940 suspension will result in a rather harsh ride on anything but the SMOOTHEST pavement due to the very short sidewalls. your tires will be significantly more expensive. you'll need to watch your tire pressure like a hawk as lower pressures on ultra-low profile tires result in sidewall failures and/or bent rims when you hit a pothole or railroad track or whatever.

if the Pegasus is a FWD wheel, you'll need 20-25mm spacer blocks to use it on a RWD car. edit: oh, I see, the IPD 'pegasus' is a RWD offset. the orginal pegasus was used on the 850 T5-R, with FWD offset.

After much thought and research I've decided to go with some volvo 15" wheels. This car is a daily driver. I'm more interested in keeping the smooth ride than adding some bling to it. Thanks again for the input.

imho, the "Nova (new)" wheels from a 960 are nicer quality and stronger wheels than the Aries that were common on 940's. see Volvo 200/700/900 Alloy Wheels for reference.

I came to this opinion after having had to replace several bent Aries. probably pretty easy to find Novas at a JY on a 960 with a blown motor as those 6 cyls cost WAY too much to fix so they get scrapped instead.

I've had a set of "Terra" wheels in the garage for a while now that I was going to put on another car. I'm going to use those with 205/60/15 tires. Thanks for the input.
