Default Please help Car won't start possible electrical

Working on a 240 85 for a couple who have little money. I am doing it free of charge and would like to spend as little time on it as possible. They need the car running pretty bad. It ran good then one morning it would not start. The gas gauge stopped working at the same time and may be related. It gets gas and spark, but I don’t think the injectors are working. If I spray starting fluid into the intake it will run for 10 sec. and die. It started once and ran for a minute or two then died. I am going to try and track down the problem but any help would be great.

Look for 2 relays on the coolant bottle bracket, swap them, if theres only 1 relay jump the 2 big wires to energize the injectors.
Check the fuel pump relay , remove the ashtray and plastic above it to get at that relay.
If not them, try the hall sensor on the distributor.

Use a meter on the injector plugs to check for power to injectors, if they are ok...

Sounds like fuel pump, lack of power at the pump maybe, check the harness plug in the trunk near the tank opening with a meter for power.

If power is intermittent at plug look at the relay behind the ashtray.
A Haynes manual helps when trying to get at the relay area.
