Are you referring to the weather strip on the outside edge or the strip on the inside edge that is "furry" and holds the window in place?

I am talking about the strip that is about 15" in length that is place at the bottom edge of the window that is seated in a metal channel that hold the window in place.

The only thing that holds the metal track to the bottom of the actual glass is a nasty black adhesive. My experience is once the o.e. stuff loses its grip, no after market adhesive comes close to retaining the same hold. Generally, I grab another window from a salvage car rather than jack with the attempt. Should that not be an option, then there is a roll of "tape" of asphalt like consistency used to seal a/c fittings. It has a paper separator between each layer that one removes prior to installation. Works as good as anything I have found.
