RE: REPLACING CENTER DRIVE SHAFT BEARING

It's true, we are divided by a common language. I assume you are talking about the shaft from the gearbox to the back axle, which we call a propellor shaft.

The shaft is in two parts and it is easier to remove them separately. First make some sort of mark on the universal joints and the flanges they fasten to, to ensure you get them back on as they were so they are not out of balance.

Remove the bolts from the rear universal joint/rear axle flange, lower the shaft and remove to the rear. The spline on the shaft will pull straight out.

Remove the bolts from the front UJ/gearbox flange but put a couple of bolts back in to take the weightwhilst you undo the two screws which fix thebearing housing to the chassis. Remove the front half of the shaft with the bearing housing attached.

Bend back the tab washer and unscrew the nut on the end of the shaft. Withdraw the bearing and its housing.
