Default Rough idle 245

Hello, Irecently purchased a 79 245 with Bosch injection from the original owner ( a friend) 222,000 miles, timing belt changed at 216,000.
It had been sitting for 4 years. I drained all the fuel, added inj. cleaner, changed the fuel filter, plugs, rotorand cap. It seems to run ok at higher rpm but idles very rough.
Also the clutch is very difficult to depress. Any ideas?

Thanks,
William

rev it to 2krpm if he the idle is better then its a fule/air problem, if the idle gets worse at 2krpm then it can be injectors/compression/igniton

There is an "idle motor" that is attached to the cam cover with two bolts (I think they are hex head cap screws). It has one electrical plug and two hoses attached. When you take it off you will be able to look down the hose holes and see the shutter inside. Clean this with spray cleaner. the computer adjusts the opening and closing of the shutter to adjust idle air.....

Buy a throttle body gasket (under $.50) and carb/throttle body cleaner, pull the throttle body and clean it really well. That should help some of the idle issues.

I'm having this same issue. Can someone direct me to the throttle body so I can try the carb cleaner?

I appreciate your help, thank you.

Follow the hose from the air filter box to the engine. The hose attaches to the throttle body on the engine.
