Default rough idle at low fuel mark

Does anyone elses early 240 series run a little rougher at idle when the fuel gauge reads "reserve". Its not terrible, it just stumbles a little. Just wondering if its a precursor to a bad pump or something. Thanks

Check your intank fuel pump. They will do that when the intank pump goes bad.

Another good indicator of an intank fuel pump problem: the engine runs rough or stalls when the tank is half full. Or won’t start when the tank is very low. Or shows fuel-starved symptoms when you park facing up hill. Also try changing the fuel filters. They may be cruddy. I have experienced all these problems.
