This seal isn't seated correctly is it?
As the title says, this camshaft seal isn't seated correctly is it??
In the circled part you can see the difference, so my question is what should it look like when seated? should it look like the part circled or the other part not circled?
Evidently I'm a moron when it comes to these things.

yeah it is supposed to be tucked in, bottom portion. You could use the same seal.....take valve cover off and just take that camshaft lobe clamp(forgot the name) off and re- do the seat....wipe off the oil....and see if you still have the metal spring o-ring on the seal...or if it is kinked...

Gotcha, so it should look like the rest of the seal in the picture (the part not circled), basically it should look just like it does out of the package.
What is a good trick to get the seal on? I've just been pushing it straight, would slightly spinning it when pushing help it seat better?
