Vinyl seats on 89 240- found a replacement seat bottom vinyl on Ebay, how tough is it to re cover these seats? Bottom only, drivers side only. Mine are ripped front to back. Dave

 

Remarkably easy. Just unbolt the seat from your car and on the underside will be these little metal clips holding the seat cover on, bend them with a pair of needle nose pliars to get them off and slide the old cover off. Installation is the reverse of removal. Though be careful when you are removing and replacing the seat not to pull up on the seat adjustment bar after one of the tracks is off the studs, if one track moves and the other doesn't it makes getting the seat back in rather difficult.
