Default shudder on acceleration

I have an 83 non turbo wagon that shudders on acceleration. It happens mostly in first gear on hard/medium acceleration. I have heard possibly rear bushings or torque rod could help. If anyone has dealt with this before or has any ideas for me they would be greatly appreciated.

First thing I would check is the center support bearing for the driveshaft.

Check the flex disk, if the 83 has one. I had the same problem with my 89 and that took care of it.
