Weirdest thing happened yesterday. Turned the ignition key to shut off the engine, and the engine surged for a second or two, as if I had stepped on the gas. Then off it went. Never experienced this in any car I've ever had. Any theories?

BTW, I recently replaced the MAF sensor with a used one from an Ebay merchant. It's been working fine.
