Default Strut inserts -

Ok,

So I just got my KYB strut inserts. I really need someone to give me some input...

First, one of the inserts has a ding in it! Second when I depress the inserts one shoots up fast and one shoots up really slow (The slow one has the ding). Is this normal?

I think I just got screwed on ebay. I think they sent me defective struts! Maybe they are not though???

Please someone tell me if one is defective, or that they are fine and will perform the same once installed and weighted by the vehicle...

Pics

The one on the right, you can see the ding... I depress these at the same time, as you can see the one on the left beat the one on the right.

Thanks!

Hey guys, i really need some help. These are probably basic questions, so I'm not sure why I can't get assistance. I don't want to put on bad struts, because it's a big job...

I sent back the KYB struts, as after a day and night of trying to get them to equal each other in resistance, the one that was dented was just way too tight. I called KYB for technical assistance, and they agreed that the strut was faulty and not to put it on my car.

So yesterday I ordered from amazon, 2 sach's brand strut inserts. I received them today. Now, I'm confused about these as well. These struts will not pop out. They just fall back down to the lowest position. I cant figure out why they wont extend and stay extended. The KYB's would.

Should these struts, naturally want to go into an extended position? Is there some trick to getting these to extend? Logically all of these struts should act the same, so why are they all so different? I don't want to spend all day (without air tools), putting on these struts, and have them not work. I set aside all day tomorrow to change these and the power steering rack on my 91 turbo.

Thanks,
