Default sudden no start.. fuel related?

was just letting my 92 240 warm up for a couple minutes in the driveway. stepped outside to head to work only to find it not running and i think "i could have sworn i started this a minute ago." went to start again, and she just won't turn over. tries and tries. first i think gas, but i know i've got at least half a tank. i grab my can and add a gallon+. it works! she fires right up. but it doesn't last long, she dies not more than 2 minutes later.
any ideas?? checked the plugs, the cap, i'm lost and very very sad.
please help

2 common things come to mind. The fuel pump relay and the crank sensor. If you search the forum you should find some good info.

to my dismay and disbelief, turned out to be a bad crank sensor. i flipped when the mechanic told me this because i had just replaced it myself not 2 months prior. shonuff.. it fired right up.
learning experiences all around.

Well, two things come to mind: 1. today's replacement parts are nowhere near the quality of the parts originally supplied with the vehicle. Original fuel pumps lasting 20-30 years is not uncommon. Today, more than 3 years is cause for rejoicing! Same is true with the cps. They're all made in China today...even Bosch has outsourced most of their production. 2. Often times, it isn't the cps itself but the connection. The cps has, what, a 10-12" pig tail? Where it connects to the firewall connector often gets corroded or the pins inside can get pushed back into the socket, effectively the same as if the sensor had failed. Regardless, your Brick is back on the road...and that's a good thing!!
