Default Thermostat Specs for '93 240 A/T B230

Hi all, I am about to replace the water pump, timing belt, radiator hoses on my '93 240 wagon. I see a couple of thermosdtats available with different temp ratings. Which do I need for my motor? It is a B230 with AC and A/T. Thanks, as always.

And yet a third choice is rated to open at 190F! My motor is pushing 300,000 miles. It just passed CA smog easily after extensive intake and PCV service.

Why don't you match the one that's in your car? The temp is printed on the thermostat.

Golden here!! Senior member
The variations are subtle and should not make that much of a difference..

Just be sure to get one that has a bleeder feature
It's a little metal piece that jrayyles when you shake it!!
Walhler, Volvo Colorstat etc

Thanks Golden. I settled on the mid-range, 190-192 degrees, and it has the rattle feature. I appreciate the input.
This old wagon has been a real workhorse for us since we bought it used with 15,000 miles at barely 5 years old in 1998, 27 years ago!
it is now 32 years young with well above 220,000 (a broken odometer for several years.) We have loaded it up to take family vacations and to drive our 2 kids up and down the West Coast from SF down to San Diego and up to Portland, Oregon several trips for college and to the Sierra many times. It remains a daily working vehicle for son's sign painting business as well as his travel wagon. Long live the red block!
