Default throttle body switch not repairable: really??

It's not that I don't have the $95.00 for a new throttle body switch ($55.00 plus shipping online). I love paying $100.00 for small hunks of plastic.[:@]

But are they really "non-repairable"?

According to Bentley, with the throttle closed the switch should ground the idle control circuit, completing the circuit and opening the idle control motor. It's not. I can ground it manually with a jumper. Heck, I could probably make an idle control switch and put it in the dashboard.[8D]

Has anyone ever repaired this switch?
