Whats the engine and trans worth out of an 86 DL 245? The trans is the 4 speed manual with OD. I am pulling to swap to V8. Engine runs and the trans shifts. clutch is shot. I mean it has 1/4 million miles on it..

 

not alot unless you know someone in your area who wants to swap to a manual transmission, AND you can provide the pedal assembly with the clutch stuff, the shift linkage, the manual OD relay circuit, and everything else needed.... and the engines are nearly bulletproof so they rarely need replacement, at most a new head gasket will typically get a another half million miles.

 

Hmm. I guess Ill pull it and put it up for $500 and see what comes in...

 

what do you see on ebay? You can also check car-part.com to see what is the price range from salvage yards. A suggestion would be to make a vid of the engine running before you pull it and do a compression check and record the stats. Good documentation will help you get the best price.

 

Between 250-600. I have no clue what number of owner I am. I did get it running. I also have driven it around the block, so it would be a good donor. The brakes and clutch are whats really bad in the car...
