transmission flange

transmission flange
I am having difficulty finding a wrench to remove the flange bolts holding the auto transmission flange to the drive shaft flange. There si a clearance issue. Has anyone had this same problem... solution? Did Volvo have a special 'thin' combination wrench for these bolts?

flange bolts
the problem with a standard 15mm box end wrench is the thickness of the metal on the box end of the wrench.
Both flanges are slightly recessed where the bolts and the nuts make contact with the flange leaving about 2mm clearance between the hex face of the nut and the shoulder of the recess. This is because the flange is forged and the mating surface of the flange where it makes contact with the nut has been machined to provide a flat mating surface. I cannot get the wrench on the nut (and bolt) because they are recessed into the flange. A thin walled box end wrench would work. This is why I asked if Volvo used a special tool, a thin box end wrench.

I have figured out the problem, thanks for your input. I thought I had to get the wrench on the nut. This is not the case. The flat on the hex nut is flush with the shoulder on the flange. Just put the 15mm box end on the bolt and turn. Simpler than I at first thought. Thanks everyone for their input.
