Default Transmission maintnance

Hi all.
I recently picked up a 1988 240 sedan in great shape with only 75000 miles and was debating wether i should do a transmission fluid change/flush. I do not beleive it was ever changed before but it seems to be in good shape (i looks and smells fine). I am afraid of doing transmission damage by draining the old luid. Any help wold be terrific thank you. It is an automatic tranmission, i believe it is the Aisin trans

. If the oil is red. Your ok. Not brownish ,dark red, smells burned its time to flush and refill. You can do it yourself. Just follow the Manuel. You can also add tranny additives to freshen up the internal seals. You can do the basic fluid change / I wouldnt mess with the internal filter. Unless you have a hoist to lift the car.

changing ATF will NOT do any damage, thats an old wives tail.... if the transmission fails after flushing and putting in fresh ATF, it likely was about to fail anyways.
