Lately my 87 240 volvo has been unable to switch into 3rd gear (i think its 3rd gear) when I'm approaching 60 mph it usually kicks into another gear, but my volvo guy told me that the overdrive on my solenoid needed to be replaced, which it was yesterday. But it still won't kick into 3rd gear and I'm stuck driving under 60 mph b/c I dont want to drive the car at 4000 rpms if I exceed 60 mph. I was thinking it was the overdrive relay but that was replaced recently. I'm going to give him a call tomorrow but does anyone have any suggestions or what they think it may be????

 

Maybe the trans but have him recheck all the new parts. Possible bad new part.
