Default Transmission problem?

I drive a 90 740 turbo runs fine up until a few minutes ago. It was driving fine, I got to a 4 way stop sign, I start to go and the car has a hard time going faster than 5mph. It started to jump and jerk a little bit, so I stopped and checked the transmission fluid its normal, and the oil level is normal as well. I tried driving in every gear same thing, could it be the turbo? When I hit the gas while in park the car makes a little noise but it can go up to 2k rpm. What can be my problem? help!

If you don't hear the pump test for power at the pump. If you have power and you can't hear it then it is bad.

I had the same symptoms once and it turned out to be the air mass meter, not sure if a turbo has one...what do you think tech?

Possible but the Mass flow won't shut the fuel pump down.

First find the wide white relay behind the Ashtray in the back of the fuse panel.
Turn the key on with one hand on the rely. Feel for a click. Then turn the engine over while hand is still on the relay. It should click again. If it does then the relay is good.
If no then you will have to go into the back of the car. There you will find a plug that goes to the fuel pump.
It is a black plug with I believe 5 or 6 wires in it. I think it might be a pink or red wire for the power to the pump.

I think the 1990 740 only has one in the tank.
Is there one under the car next to the fuel filter?

I read that ever since 1976 or so all volvo's need 2 pumps. I have the chiltron book and it shows to remove the fuel pump, one fuel pump. but I called for parts, some parts say i need one some say i need 2. I dont want to take the car to the mechanic and then he says i need 2 but i only have 1.

Look under the drivers side of the car. You will see the fuel filter. If it has 2 you will see the filter and the pump. You can't miss it if youhave one under there.

If there is none under there then you only have one.

I just went to the car and it turned on. I didnt turn it on since Friday. I did hear the fuel pump but it didnt hiss, it made more of a grumble than a hiss. I heard it 3times that I checked. After it turned on, it died 1 second after that. Is it still a fuel pump problem? or maybe something else fuel pressure regulator? relay?

Its all fixed!. It was the out take fuel pump and not the in tank. Even though I only bought the intake fuel pump it was the same fuel pump so its not a problem. Now all I need to get is a tail light circuit for my passenger side and I am all good, thanks Tech
