Default Upgrading condensor to a parallel flow type?

I plan on upgrading my parents 1988 240 DL AC system to r134a. I plan on buying the OEM volvo r12 to r134a retrofit kit. Also looking to upgrade the stock condenser to a parallel flow type. Could not find a direct fit type on the web. I really don't want to modify anything. Does anyone knows where to get a direct fit parallel flow type condenser at?

The stock system is just fine. Save your money.

the conversion kit from volvo includes a new dryer/reciever thing, a new orifice, and various seals. IMHO, its very important to flush out all traces of the old a/c oil before rebuilding/converting to r134a.

I should add, my 740 runs R134a on the stock everything, it's plenty cold, hence my earlier statement. Spend the money on new brakes or something.

Typhoon: you SURE your car wasn't converted? Mine was in about 2000, using the Volvo kits. you need the new reciever as the dessicant in the stock one will react very badly with the ester oil you use with a r134a conversion. and the new orifice pipe gets you within 3-5F of the original cold air temp, without it, it barely cools. and you really should flush out all the original r12 oil before recharging with ester oil and r134a. and you HAVE to change the o-rings or they WILL fail.

Oh, the drier would've been changed, I was referring more to the large components in the system like the evap/condenser etc. Of course the small parts need to be changed.
All I know is it has an R134a sticker under the dash and on the drier too, and cools VERY well.
