Volvo 240 Fuel Gauge not working after Comp. board bypass
Hey my fuel gauge was working but my temp gauge wasn't so I decided to get the IPD bypass wire kit. I took out the comp. board and jumped pin 1 and pin 3, and put it all back together. Everything is connected properly double checked and took pictures before disconnecting the wires on the instrument cluster. Started up my car and the temp gauge still fails to work and now my fuel gauge doesn't move at all. I tossed my Comp. board and now don't know what to do. I heard pin 4 is what powers both gauges... Any fixes I could do? Thanks
I would just buy a junk yard cluster for about 28 bucks....or less or a new fuel gauge or temp guage...but here in Cali we have tons of these places and that is not the case in other parts.
may be redo the soldering? check out this post:

I actually live in Socal, Inland empire. I hardly come across 240's at the junk yard. I managed to fuel gauge to move. Instead of jumping pin 1 and pin 3 as the IPD kit says I jumped pin 1 and pin 4 and the fuel gauge started to function. Can anyone give me some insight in this. thanks
