What am I looking at here?

Can anyone tell me what this part is: it's the one in the picture with the disconnected wire. It lives behind the alternator and in front of the oil filter on an '83 245. I've browsed through Bentley but didn't find it.

Sending unit for an oil pressure guage.

indeed it is the sending unit and i have found on my 242 that under boost or high RPM it stats pissing oil everywhere...then again its old and im running like a million pounds of boost to stock everything haha yea thats a good idea.
