ok.. here's the problem. i have a 1978 Volvo 244DL. and i pretty much spent my college tuition fixing the car.. i just can't let go of it.. i bought the car a couple years back from a friend for $500.. and so far have literally spent about $5,000 fixing it.. i'm so stupid.. i dont even know if it was worth it or not.. last summer.. i was driving on the freeway and it literally caught fire under the hood.. turns out there was a crack in the engine..so i spent $3,000 rebuilding the engine and all. and everything under the hood is pretty much new.. a couple months ago.. my transmission died on me.. and pretty much gave up on my car.. i've spent sooo much money fixing it. they told me it'd be around $800 to rebuild the engine. i figured it wasn't worth it.. like. the car is still drivable.. in very good physical condition.. and the engine is still good to go.. it's only the transmission that's the problem. so do you guys think it's worth fixing ???? i've even called mtv to pimp my ride.. and sadly they only accept cars that are in running condition... but i'm trying to sell it too.. so if anyone wants to buy it... hit me up.. cuz i'm in need of something to buy it... please please pleae... help me out. thanks!

If you have already put that much money into it and it is in very good condition you might want to just fix it.You know whats done to it.If you sell it and buy something else what can you buy for the $800.00 that it would take to fix your car?If you buy something else you don't know what it needs or what will happen soon after you get it.The price of $800.00 isnt that bad for a trans rebuild. Most of the time i hear of 1000.00 for a trans rebuild.I hope this helps.
