Default Where to buy that butyl gunk to re-seal my wiper motor mount?

Hi folks, I'm new to the Volvo scene, and I just bought a 1990 240 DL Sedan. It runs like a top, but needs a few (or more) minor tweaks worked out before I can be totally comfortable with it.
FIRST UP:
The wiper motor has a low-key constant squeal, runs real slow, and doesn't change speeds when I throw the wiper lever. I read somewhere that the wiper motor magnets may have come loose and they need to be epoxied back, but my lovely wife insisted we just get a new motor. Scored a new motor from the local parts shop, and now I'm facing removal. From all the advice I've read and YouTube videos viewed, I gather there's a big wad of black gunk you-all call "Butyl" that seals out the rain at the motor/firewall junction. I'd like to replace it with fresh, as I don't imagine you can just scrape and re-apply the stuff. I've been looking all over for a can of it, but all I can find is "butyl tape". I've seen it around, and I know it's good for sealing water out on windows and what-not, but is this the stuff I need? I had imagined the stuff came in a big can that you sort of 'gooped' around what you wanted sealed, but I can't seem to find anything. I've also read some folks using duct sealant, but I'd rather use the real deal unless the duct sealant is just as good.

So... is butyl tape what I need? Or does it come in some other format I'm missing? And is duct sealant a suitable replacement?

Thanks all.

yeah, butyl tape, its nasty black stuff, comes in a spiral roll with a paper backing, any decent car parts store should have it. I much prefer locally owned foreign car kinda parts stores to the big box stores.

OK, I had assumed I needed a big wad of the stuff to slop on there, but if the tape works (and would probably be easier to apply) then I'm in.
Thanks folks, I appreciate the advice

the 'tape' is like a rope of the stuff, maybe 1/4 x 1/4"... just wrap a few turns of it around the shaft of the motor and it will fill the whole.

Default tape

I just used the tape. Works fine. I made three trips around and made sure to mash it in all the gaps the first trip and fill them out. I had some left over from when I painted my truck and pulled all the glass.
